Pic(s) of the Week: ‘Pike’-tures

Irene’s photos from a recent visit to Pike Place Market in Seattle
were so eye-catching, I thought I’d mark my 100th post with a mosaic of shots
(presented in the form of a capital “I” when viewed on an iPad, laptop or PC!)…

WARNING: Sunbathe at Your Own Risk!

Thanks to guest blogger & veteran cruiser Alex Lugo for this video of the thrill-seeking hordes/vacationers-of-questionable-judgment who hang out directly under the landing path of jumbo jets at the Princess Juliana International Airport in St. Maarten. Does the same question come to your mind after watching the vid: Uh, and this stretch of beach isn’t cordoned off because WHY? I guess a sign between the runway and Maho beach sums up all liability/safety issues: “DANGER: Jet blast of departing and arriving aircraft can cause severe physical harm resulting in extreme bodily harm and/or death.”
